Sometimes, it’s hard to get excited about these things. It’s always interesting to mention who the Philadelphia Eagles are meeting with and/or hosting as we inch closer to another NFL Draft. The fact of the matter is they’ll meet with tons of prospects and eventually sit with just about all of the ones they’ll want to talk to at some point, whether that be at the Senior Bowl, the NFL Scouting Combine, a Pro Day, or a pre-draft workout.

At the risk of sounding disrespectful, certain names are more interesting than others though, especially if they pay a position of need. In the case of Ahmad ‘Sauce’ Gardner and Jalen Pitre, both statements are accurate.

It’s good to see the Eagles are doing their due diligence.

Following what’s been a less-than-exciting trip through the free agency frenzy (no disrespect is intended to Haason Reddick as we’re glad he’s here), Birds fans are almost at a point in which they’ll take their good news whenever and however they can get it.

Sure, deep down, we all know that they’re working. The emotions have taken over from time to time as it’s been easy to ask if this team is truly serious about being a better football team.

It feels like, every 15 minutes, someone is being traded to a new team or one of the available free agents is finding a new home. The Eagles have been on the sideline for most of that, but there are occasional signs of life.

Philadelphia plans to host Ahmad Gardner on a pre-draft visit according to sources. Aaron Wilson was first on the scene with the news on the man affectionately referred to as ‘Sauce’. Recently, one of the most trusted sources for Eagles content, Mike Kaye, informed us of some news of another defensive back Eagles fans have become huge fans of.

He recently shared that Pitre has plans of visiting the Ravens. Hopefully, the Eagles meet with him soon. With his versatility, he’d provide an upgrade in the secondary.

There’s some doubt about whether or not Gardner would even be on the board when the Eagles are on the clock at 15, but no one denies his talent. There are theories that he might be the first cornerback taken in the coming draft.

Pitre has been given both first and second-round grades. Some have him graded behind Kyle Hamilton (Notre Dame), Lewis Cine (Georgia), Daxton Hill (Michigan), and Jaquan Brisker (Penn State) ranked ahead of him. Fear not though. He’s a baller.

During the 2021 college football season, he tallied 75 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, two interceptions, and three forced fumbles. Either one of these guys would look nice in Eagles jerseys, and the arguments can be made that they have what it takes to be day-one starters in the defensive secondary.
