The Philadelphia Eagles round things out with a few under-the-radar role players.

The Philadelphia Eagles have been looking for the thunder to Miles Sanders’ lightning for some time now. They finally get it here in Round 5 with Hassan Haskins. He’s the true bruising runner that the Eagles have been trying to transform Jordan Howard or Elijah Holyfield into.

He played this role well at Michigan as their complement to Blake Corum, but Haskin’s has another component to his game as well. He’s much more elusive than he’s given credit for being.

Mike Rose. player. Pick Analysis. Iowa State. 166. 837. Scouting Report. Linebacker

As you may have noticed. The Birds haven’t satisfied their need for help at the linebacker position yet, and they make up for that here by taking an under-the-radar but supremely talented former Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, Mike Rose.

At six-foot-three, Rose measures in taller than Davion Taylor and T.J. Edwards (both are six-foot-one). Rose is a nice comp to newly acquired defensive end Haason Reddick in that he can rush the passer and drop back in coverage.

With Reddick, Derek Barnett, Brandon Graham, and Josh Sweat all performing as edge rushers, Rose will find most of his success on the team as a coverage linebacker or special teams player that can make life difficult for opposing quarterbacks.

Defensive Tackle. 854. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. D.J. Davidson. 194. player. Arizona State

The Eagles wrap things up by taking an interior defensive lineman to add more depth to their front. Drafting D.J. Davidson in the sixth round gives the Eagles someone who’s in the mold of Hassan Ridgeway.

Fletcher Cox and Javon Hargrave have the starting jobs locked up, but Davidson gives the Eagles even more strength and depth at the defensive tackle position. The best part of all of this is they get starting-level reserve players in Rhyan and Rose and as well as day-one starters in Hamilton and Stingley.
