Ranking underrated, sub-30 free agents Eagles should still consider
Don’t rule out theories of the Eagles adding another high-quality free agent late.
Things don’t always work out in the manner that you think they should. How’s that for insight? Regardless of what your background is or how old you are, you’ve, no doubt, been taught that lesson several times. You’ve learned that in your personal and professional lives. You’ve certainly had more than your fair share of reminders while watching the Philadelphia Eagles handle their business on a year-in and year-out basis.
For many, the expectation was Philly would say goodbye to some familiar faces and give this roster a facelift, but even though Haason Reddick, Zach Pascal, and Kyzir White were added, the majority of the Eagles’ offseason transactions involved those same familiar faces we assumed had high chances of playing in other cities (Greg Ward, Boston Scott, Anthony Harris, Nate Herbig, Andre Chachere).
Things have gone quiet at the NovaCare Complex as the NFL Draft approaches. Still, there are theories that another free agent or two could be added post-selection meeting. Don’t rule out the return of another of those familiar names either, the one belonging to Steven Nelson.
He appeared in 16 regular-season games and Philadelphia’s lone playoff game and started every one of them a year ago. He was already mentioned as a possible late add if the Birds got into April or May and still needed to upgrade the defensive secondary, so with that being said, you may want to jot his name down.
As a bonus, we’ve added six more undervalued guys who are still available, guys who haven’t cracked the 30-year-old age marker. Here’s how they rank and how they can add quality production for this Eagles roster if given the opportunity.
