Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Kentucky Wildcats. Luke Fortner. player. 833. IOL. 101

The Eagles strengthen the NFL’s best O-line with one of the best interior linemen in this class.

Write this down, and commit this to memory. If somehow, Luke Fortner lands with Philadelphia, he’ll have every opportunity to evolve into a perennial all-star at some point down the road, especially with Jeff Stoutland as his position coach.

Sure, he walks into the NovaCare Complex knowing that he’s staring up at Isaac Seumalo, Landon Dickerson, and Jack Driscoll on the depth chart, but he possesses something this Eagles organization and coaching staff loves… versatility.

He’s already better than Nate Herbig, and during his career with the Kentucky Wildcats, he amassed 600 snaps at the center, right guard, and left guard positions in college football’s best conference. He also has the physical makeup you’re looking for at six-foot-three and 302 pounds.

Regardless of where he lands, look for Fortner to begin his career as a swing backup who can fill in anywhere along the offensive line’s interior, but if this is the curtain call for Jason Kelce, this is a move that could pay dividends as Fortner, along with Landon Dickerson and Isaac Seumalo, gives them some options for a reliable successor.
