Here are value picks that should be available for the Eagles in rounds five through seven.
We really wanted to throw DeAngelo Malone out of Western Kentucky onto this list. He deserves an honorable mention, but let’s shine some light on Joshua Paschal.
He’s six-foot-three and tips the scales at 278 pounds. Some think he should add pounds and become a defensive tackle, but we respect the ability that he’s shown on the outside. We also like the fact that he saved his best games for the Kentucky Wildcats’ best competition. That will always earn you a gold star in the evaluation process.
Isaiah Thomas was a solid defensive star in a conference that isn’t known for playing defense. He was huge for the Oklahoma Sooners in 2022, notching 38 tackles, seven sacks, and three forced fumbles on the year.
The Eagles don’t have a sixth-round selection, but if they move back or if Thomas rises into Round 5, the Eagles could have an interesting decision to make.
Add Dante Stills‘ name to the list of great defensive talents from the, at times, defensive-starved Big 12 Conference. He doesn’t give us much to criticize in terms of his game as he’s been a good defender for the West Virginia Mountaineers. He plays both the run and pass well.
Stills closed his career by tallying 36 tackles, seven sacks, and a forced fumble. That earned him a First-Team All-Big 12 nod in 2021 after earning consecutive Second-Team All-Big 12 nods in 2019 and 2020. You definitely want to jot his name down as one of the better late-round prospects at defensive end.
