Ranking Eagles 1st-round WR prospects worth pairing with DeVonta Smith
Treylon Burks and Christian Watson are reaches for the Eagles at 15 and 18.
Former Razorbacks star Treylon Burks gets lost in the shuffle sometimes partially because, even in good years, Arkansas gets forgotten about. All we seem to want to talk about year-in and year-out in the SEC West is the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Auburn Tigers, the Texas A&M Aggies, and the LSU Tigers talent pool (even if the latter three are struggling).
Burks looks faster on game day than a couple of slow 40 times would suggest he is. There’s another reason why he’s sliding by the way, but his blend of speed and size should be enough to land him with someone in Round 1. It’s just that taking him at 15 and 18 would be a reach for the Eagles.
Christian Watson has done himself a ton of favors this offseason, first during Senior Bowl Week and, second, with great testing and fantastic measurables at the most recent NFL Scouting Combine. He ran a 4.36-second 40-yard dash, and at six-foot-four and 208-pounds, that’s more than enough to raise a few eyebrows.
As is the case with Burks, the argument can be made that taking Watson at 15 or 18 is a reach though, especially seeing as how better prospects at the position could be available, particularly the next two prospects on this list.
