Ranking Eagles 1st-round WR prospects worth pairing with DeVonta Smith
Garrett Wilson and Drake London could be long gone before the Eagles are on the clock.
Chris Olave could have played anywhere, and on 99 percent of the college football rosters in America, he would have been the best wide receiver the program had. One of the schools in which he wouldn’t have been was the very school he played for.
There are only two prospects that rank higher than Olave and Williams on this list, and one of them was Olave’s teammate, six-foot, 183-pound Garrett Wilson.
He’s fast. Try a 4.38-second 40-yard dash on for size. He consistently created separation. He runs smooth routes. There’s nothing not to like.
Wilson will be one of the first two wide receivers taken in the selection meeting. The man that may be taken first earns the top spot on this list.
It would have been nice to see what Drake London could have accomplished had he not had the injury to end his college football career. In only eight games before breaking his ankle, he notched 88 receptions for 1,084 yards and he reached the end zone seven times.
What might that stat line had looked like if he would have played the remainder of the season? Could we be discussing 132 receptions?
Obviously, there’s no way of knowing, but here’s what we can say. One, several mock drafts have connected London and Philadelphia. Second, there’s a possibility that London won’t even be available when the Birds are on the clock at 15.
Forget the preconceived notions about receivers from USC.
