7 low-key second-round options for the Eagles in the 2022 NFL Draft
Here are two skill players for the Eagles’ consideration.
Here’s how we stack the five best wide receivers in the 2022 NFL Draft class: Drake London, Garrett Wilson, Jameson Williams, Chris Olave, and Treylon Burks. The next tier carries names like Christian Watson, Khalil Shakir, George Pickens, and Skyy Moore.
Keep an eye on Jahan Dotson, who probably doesn’t get mentioned enough. Some say his size is a concern. He’s five-foot-eleven and 178 pounds, but he plays through contact and doesn’t drop the ball when it’s thrown his way. He hauled in 91 passes for 1,182 yards in 2021, and he reached the end zone 12 times.
The best running in the NFL Draft gets a mention here. After running tons of mock draft simulators, talking to scouts, and taking a look at Pro Football Focus’ big board, the same thing kept happening. Kenneth Walker III constantly gets second-round mentions.
Philly is pretty much set at the running back position with Miles Sanders, Kenneth Gainwell, and Boston Scott, but they’ve needed a true bruiser for a while. Jordan Howard doesn’t count.
It’s doubtful that Philadelphia takes a running back this high. The position isn’t as valued as it once was, but if they were in the market with the 51st-overall selection, this would be the guy. He racked up 1,636 yards and 18 touchdowns on 263 carries, and according to PFF, he broke 89 tackles.
That would satisfy a huge need for Philly, but again, conventional thinking says they figure to look in another direction.
