Kayvon Thibodeaux has phenomenal talent, but the Philadelphia Eagles should steer clear.
Perhaps you’ve heard. At some point or another, theories have been thrown out there suggesting several prospects once seen as being high draftees that the Eagles have no shot at landing could slide down draft boards in Round 1. Rumor has it that Derek Stingley, Jameson Williams, Chris Olave, and Kayvon Thibodeaux could be available once Roger Goodell announces Philadelphia is on the clock.
If there’s anyone in that bunch that we’d advise ignoring, it would be Thibodeaux. There’s something about his comments about sitting out of the NFL Scouting Combine’s workout session because he had a ‘long day’ and all of the questions that we have heard and continue to hear about his work ethic that doesn’t sit well with us.
When two of the Eagles’ top four edge rushers are either aging and coming off of an injury (Brandon Graham) or an underperforming personal-foul penalty that’s waiting to happen (Derek Barnett), we’d rather not complicate things by adding a potentially lazy prospect who appears to be more concerned with pushing his brand than playing football.
When you’re hearing stories about him taking himself out of the game in crunch time or giving minimal effort in the fourth quarter, remember that there were obvious warning signs.
