The 2021 Eagles draft class could be Howie Roseman’s saving grace.

During the 2017 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles added eight Birds to the nest. Five years later, there’s only one who’s still on the roster. Sadly, we’re discussing Derek Barnett, someone much of the fan base wishes Philly would put on the next bus out of town.

Whoever coined the phrase ‘the draft is a crapshoot’ must have been watching some of the stuff the Eagles have done when he or she said it. Since 2017 alone, vice president/general manager Howie Roseman has had his share of recent misses (Donnel Pumphrey, Elijah Qualls, Shareef Miller). He’s also hit a few home runs (Jordan Mailata, Dallas Goedert, Josh Sweat). The jury is still out on a few other guys though.

Jack Driscoll is going to be a monster if he can stop getting hurt. Oh, and how about Jalen Hurts? Everyone keeps asking about what happens if he doesn’t work out, but how about this? What if he does? Who would have thought that a selection that ticked everyone off would wind up potentially being one of the best decisions Howie ever made.

The 2021 class could be his saving grace though. Philly has added some studs, and we’re expecting a lot from them in Year 2. Here’s a quick look at six Birds we’ll be keeping an eye on.
