Auburn Tigers. Scouting Report. safety. Smoke Monday . 154. player. 842. Pick Analysis

Smoke Monday could develop into a decent contributor for the Eagles’ defense.

If nothing changed between now and opening day of the 2022 NFL season, this is what the Eagles would have at the safety position: Anthony Harris, Marcus Epps, Jared Mayden, and K’Von Wallace. That isn’t ideal.

Smoke Monday may not be ready to step in and dominate at the professional level quite yet, but you can make the argument that he might be just as talented as everyone the Eagles already have.

Simulation 2: John Ridgeway (Arkansas defensive tackle)

Again, you can never rule out ideas involving the Philadelphia beefing up their defensive line. If John Ridgeway is available for the Eagles at 154, this could be a home-run selection for the Birds this late.

Simulation 3: Tariq Castro-Fields (Penn State cornerback)

Once upon a time, Tariq Castro-Fields was someone we discussed often. His evaluation has taught us that, despite the early buzz in 2021, he may not be ready for the bright lights of the NFL yet. That’s okay though, for now. We know where he needs to apply focus if he’s going to elevate and get there.

He needs better discipline. He can be coached out of biting on some of the double moves that have tricked him. This could work though. He’s six-foot-tall. He weighs 197 pounds, and he runs well enough to keep up with NFL receivers.
