One final Eagles 1st-round NFL mock: Will Philadelphia trade up?
By Hunter Doyle
So, are the Philadelphia Eagles trading up or not?
It’s almost here. At the time of this story being written and published, it’s draft night eve, and tomorrow night (or later on tonight, depending on when you give this one a look, we’ll likely be welcoming two new Philadelphia Eagles into the family. The possibilities are endless especially with Philly owning two first-round picks. Plus, this is probably one of the weirdest draft classes to evaluate in recent memory.
The good news is that there is plenty of depth at most positions, especially in the middle of the first round where the Eagles sit, still owning picks 15 and 18. A trade-up could still be in play as well with the Carolina Panthers and Seattle Seahawks being potential partners if the Birds want to make a move.
One of the best parts about the lead-up to this draft is that there doesn’t seem to be any certainties. Last year, there was a pretty strong sense of who would go and where they would end up, especially when we were discussing the top five.
In most classes, at least a few of the top picks are usually set in stone. Speaking specifically to the Eagles, there are a lot of varying reports on what they’ll do at 15 and 18 and which prospects they may trade up for.
There will always be smokescreens so it’ll be interesting to sort those out after the picks are made after Round 1. With that said, let’s take a look at what the Eagles may do tomorrow night.
