The Philadelphia Eagles’ five new draftees earn high marks.

The speculation is over. The mock drafts were incorrect, but sometimes, it’s good to be wrong. The Philadelphia Eagles added five new Birds to the nest, and they landed a top-tier and established wide receiver, one of the game’s best in A.J. Brown. Needless to say, there have been sunny skies in the forecast for every Eagles fan.

Brown, the former Tennessee Titan was acquired for the cost of the 18th-overall selection (and the 101st-overall selection). Three days and seven rounds later, Philly has continued to add to what will eventually be a 90-man training camp roster with the signing of some intriguing free agents.

Now that we’ve had a chance to get over the initial excitement and calm down, let’s have an honest discussion about the new guys. The good, the bad, the ugly. We’re tackling everything.

If you love surprises, you’re probably still beaming over the third-round addition of Nakobe Dean while scratching your head over how this team walked through seven rounds and didn’t land a single safety or cornerback. That’s okay. They didn’t press, and it feels like this team is back on the right track.

Howie Roseman and his guys earn a well-deserved pat on the back. Let’s get into some final grades. We begin with an action-packed first night.
