A.J. Brown’s addition to the Philadelphia Eagles should start a domino effect.

Ask yourselves a quick question. Now, that we’ve calmed down from the news that the Philadelphia Eagles have added A.J. Brown, it’s easier to answer. When was the last time you were this excited about an addition made at the wide receiver position?

Landing DeVonta Smith in the 2021 NFL Draft was major, but we knew he couldn’t fix everything alone. That forced us to temper our expectations some, but as excitement goes, it’s hard to find a parallel, isn’t it?

There was the addition of Torrey Smith and Alshon Jeffery in 2017. They gave Carson Wentz two weapons on the outside. There was also the decision to bring DeSean Jackson home in 2019 and the electricity that was felt in his first game back… Then he got hurt.

Nope, trading for A.J. Brown feels better than all of that did. Is it crazy to say that this feels like it did when Philly landed Terrell Owens? Sure, the 2004 Eagles were a Super Bowl contender, and this team isn’t quite there yet. Still, if you’re excited, that’s quite alright. You deserve it.

Birds fans have been through a lot over the past few years and deserve to be happy for a little white. Here are a few Eagles who are in-house and, no doubt smiling over the news of adding a member of the 2019 Pro Football Writers of America All-Rookie Team and the 2020 Pro Bowl roster to the nest.
