Jaquiski Tartt. 1. player. 42. . .

Jaquiski Tart is, more than likely, the best free-agent safety option the Eagles have.

No Eagles fan will forget where they were when they saw the Cowboys’ season go up in flames versus a team we aren’t even fans of, the San Francisco 49ers. It was a fantastic evening of football.

Hey, what can we say? Any foe of Dallas is a friend of ours.

Sans a very enjoyable upset win, the Niners continue to make headlines as their star Deebo Samuel has been a huge topic of conversation, especially in Eagles-centered circles. That seems to be behind us, however, with the acquisition of A.J. Brown.

If you’ve gone back to watch some of San Fran’s games in the meantime, you’re more than aware that they fielded some ballers in 2021, one being safety Jaquiski Tartt. If Philly is looking to take the plunge and make an offer to one of the NFL’s free agents playing the safety position, this is, in all likelihood, the best of the remaining choices that they have.

Injuries are a concern here as Tartt has never played the full slate of an NFL season. Three of his seven years have ended with trips to the injured reserve. He’s dealt with everything from a broken arm to a shoulder injury to turf toe, but when he was on the field, he was a very versatile weapon for the Niners’ defense.

The good news is, in 2021, he’s only allowed nine TDs in his career when targeted, and opposing quarterbacks were only able to complete a little over 57% of their passes thrown in his direction.

The bad news is this. Yes, if you’re wondering, this is the guy that dropped that interception in last year’s NFC Championship Game.

Say what you will, but the facts are the facts. This young man, though 30 now, is better than K’Von Wallace and Jared Mayden.
