DeVonta Smith takes another step. He and Brown become the first 1,000-yard duo in Eagles history.

Can you believe that, despite playing since 1933, the Eagles have never had two wide receivers eclipse the 1,000-yard plateau in the same season? In some ways, that’s unbelievable, and in some ways, it isn’t.

You’ve watched what this team has done at the wide receiver position over the past few seasons, haven’t you? That ends now though!

How’s this for ‘bold’? In 2022, Philadelphia’s star-studded duo, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith will both produce 1,000 yards or more in an improving Eagles ariel attack.

We’ll even do you a solid and take it a step further. They’ll do so in consecutive games with Brown reaching the mark first.

It’s very doable. Smith didn’t get a lot of help as a rookie. Jalen Hurts was just getting his feet wet as the Eagles’ starting quarterback, and DeVonta STILL set a franchise record for receiving yards by a rookie with 917 big ones. He edged a franchise legend, DeSean Jackson, in the process.

Opposing defenses are not going be to able to blanket both of these guys, and that will allow plenty of room for both to make plays. This will also help Birds tight end Dallas Goedert. To make long stories shorter, the excuses are over for Jalen Hurts. It’s not like he’d make any anyway. That’s another story for another day though.
