Jordan Davis provides elite athleticism for a man his size.

We could begin this argument and end it by simply posting clips of this young man running the 40-yard dash at the most recent NFL Scouting Combine. Running a 4.78 and notching 32 inches and 123 inches in the vertical and broad jump respectively would be impressive for any lineman regardless of what side of the ball they play on. Doing so at six-foot-six and 341 pounds is otherworldly.

Davis was blessed with the feet of a solid tailback, 34-inch arms, and 10 and 3/4-inch hands. There’s seemingly nothing he can’t do physically. If he needs to run over guys, he can do that. If he needs to run guys down, well, it appears that he’s fully capable of doing that as well.

Sure, he could improve his technique some as a pass-rusher, learn a few finesse moves, and develop into a more polished sack artist, but think about something for a second.

It’s hard to believe that a man that big with that type of explosiveness couldn’t beat guards and centers and get to the signal-caller at the collegiate level, isn’t it? Perhaps he, instead, just did what was asked of him in the scheme that Kirby Smart and Georgia Bulldogs defensive coordinator Dan Lanning were running?

Either way, regardless of what side of the fence you’re on in that argument, we’re fully confident that he’s dedicated himself to knowing his role, whatever that might be and familiarizing himself with what’s needed of him in this Eagles defense. Regardless of what that winds up being, expect excellence.
