There is absolutely no reason why the Eagles should lose to the Giants or Commanders.

You’re probably noticing a trend here. What’s needed for a successful Eagles season doesn’t require a ton of thought. They need only win the games that they’re supposed to win and figure out a way to pull out more wins than losses in those games that can conceivably go either way.

Can anyone think of any reason why Philadelphia shouldn’t sweep the Washington Commanders or New York Giants? No, seriously. We don’t believe they won’t, but if there’s a reasonable argument for why those four games shouldn’t go their way we’d like to hear them.

Part of what made the Patriots so dominant for so long is they had the greatest coach of all time and the greatest quarterback of all time at the same time. They also played in a division where, for whatever reason, all of their divisional foes (the Buffalo Bills, the Miami Dolphins, and the New York Jets) fell on hard times for, like, 20 years.

The Eagles don’t have the greatest coach and quarterback of all time, at least not yet (we’ll see what happens), but you can argue that Nick Sirianni and Jalen Hurts are good enough.

Philly could put a lot of games in the win column by stacking a few versus what should be some inferior competition, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans for instance. They should also, at minimum, win their four games versus New York and Washington.

Predicting ten wins seems ambitious, but what the heck. Ten wins or more is the prediction here. We expect zero letdowns. We expect much from the new additions. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, we expect the Philadelphia Eagles to take another step forward in 2022.
