It’s hard to imagine any scenario in which Mac McCain makes the Eagles roster.

It was hard to imagine Mac McCain III making the Eagles roster anyway, and adding James Bradberry only adds to the doubt. As was the case with Kary Vincent Jr., Philly had some interest in Mac McCain post-draft in 2021.

McCain played his college ball at North Carolina A&T with the Aggies. The Denver Broncos added the six-foot, 175-pound corner as an undrafted rookie free agent shortly after the selection meeting wrapped.

Denver would go on to release him on August 29th, but added him to their practice squad. Philly signed him off of the Broncos’ scout team and added him to their active roster on September 7th.

He debuted versus the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3 on September 27th. He got cut on November 9th which led to another stint with Denver from November 10th to November 23rd before Philly reacquired him on November 24th.

Unfortunately, his future isn’t any more certain now than it was almost six months ago. McCain, despite playing 11 snaps on defense and another 33 on special teams a year ago, has a huge hill to climb if he’s going to make the roster, and with the amount of guaranteed money the Philadelphia Eagles have given to their undrafted rookies, one might wonder if he even has a chance of making their practice squad.
