team. 49. . . . Green Bay Packers.

Can the Eagles beat the reigning MVP and the solid defense of the Packers?

Aaron Rodgers lost his most dependable target this offseason in Davante Adams, and that could help the Eagles in this matchup. Don’t discount Rodgers’ talent though. He is still a tough matchup for any defense because of his football IQ and his ability to make plays on the run and on the fly.

Green Bay’s secondary last season frustrated a lot of opposing signal-callers as they ranked seventh in interceptions with 18. Former Eagles cornerback Rasul Douglas led the way with five interceptions.

The Eagles’ offensive line will have to watch out for linebackers Rashan Gary and Preston Smith. They combined for 18.5 sacks last season.

Philly hasn’t fared well versus the Packers in their last five meetings as they only picked up two wins. The last time the two teams met was in 2020 when Green Bay blew the Birds out 30-16 at Lambeau Field in a game that wasn’t as close as the final score indicates.

Rodgers threw for 295 passing yards and three touchdowns in that win. Aaron Jones ran all over Philadelphia with 130 rushing yards and one touchdown. The Packers have outscored Philadelphia by a 150-110 margin in their last five meetings.

If the Eagles can snatch a win from all three of these teams listed, you may begin to hear that they’re one of the best teams in the NFC, but that is a tough ask as none of these teams are pushovers.
