There are tons of storylines that are developing as the Philadelphia Eagles near training camp.

It won’t be long now. The Philadelphia Eagles‘ spectacular offseason continues, and now, the focus shifts from what we’ve seen so far during free agency and the NFL Draft to the process of building a roster.

Philly has a lot of work to do as they’ll need to trim what will be a 90-man training camp roster to 53 players and a practice squad. Every rep counts. So does every opportunity. Don’t you love this time of year? Let’s talk roster battles.

player. 54. . . . Tight End. 5

For the first time in his young career, Dallas Goedert walks into camp as the top tight end on the Eagles’ depth chart. We’re well into the post-Zach Ertz era now, and though we believe rookie Grant Calcaterra will make the roster (and be one of the steals of the most recent draft), it’s hard to determine if Philly values Jack Stoll over Tyree Jackson.

It’s also impossible to determine what JJ Acrega-Whiteside’s chances are of making the roster. It’s also hard to deny that Noah Togiai and Richard Rodgers feel like the odd-men-out. They probably have the toughest hill to climb to secure roster spots.
