The Eagles linebacker unit looks a lot better than it did two months ago.

Well, we can’t say that the Eagles don’t value the linebacker position enough anymore, can we? Don’t look now, but there’s some talent here folks!

T.J. Edwards has evolved into a legitimate weapon at the position. Much is expected from Davion Taylor as he returns from injury for year three. Shaun Bradley, who’s also in his third season, will be in the mix here as well, along with a few other familiar faces: Christian Elliss, who’s been around for a little while, Patrick Johnson, and JaCoby Stevens.

Philly added Haason Reddick and Kyzir White during the offseason, and then, they landed the steal of the draft by adding Nakobe Dean in Round 3. Kyron Johnson was selected in Round 6. Since then, they made a solid signing by acquiring Ali Fayad as part of their undrafted free agent signings.

If we were to guess, if a 53-man roster were to be announced tomorrow, Reddick, Edwards, Taylor, White, Bradley, and Dean would be the guys (if the decision was to keep six players), but you never can tell, especially if someone rises during camp.

The long and the short of everything is this. As is the case with the defensive tackle position, this team will be forced to say goodbye to some studs come September, but that’s a much better scenario than feeling like there’s a feeling of desperation sinking in as has been the case with this unit and the next for far too long.
