2. If the Saints underperform and wind up with a high draft choice, the Eagles could be in business.

As many of you are aware, the Philadelphia Eagles aren’t just in possession of their own first-round draft choice. They’re also the owners of one that had once belonged to the New Orleans Saints.

New Orleans has been a playoff contender for a large part of the 21st century. This season, however, they approach the 2022-2023 NFL regular season with some uncertainty.

This is now year two of the post-Drew Brees era as the greatest signal-caller in franchise history decided to call it a career after the 2020-2021 run, and now, there’s something else to consider. The best coach this team has ever seen, Sean Payton, is also gone

The Saints are now led by rookie head coach Dennis Allen. Quarterback Jameis Winston is coming off of a significant injury, but he will man the offense. Two of their star players, Marcus Williams and Terror Armstead, were lost in the offseason.

While there’s no telling how the Saints will perform under their new head coach and restructured roster, it is plausible to believe that there’s a chance that they won’t live up to any high expectations. Eagles fans everywhere will have one eye on what the ‘Who Dat’ Nation is doing all season as they pray for losses. It would be phenomenal if Philly could stack some wins and still wind up with a top-ten draft choice by someone else losing. That will put them in a position to and one of the top two quarterbacks in the 2023 draft.
