Ranking the top defensive nightmares for this enhanced Eagles offense
One of the toughest defenses in 2021, the Saints, look to continue the dominance versus the Eagles in their 2022 penultimate affair.
The New Orleans Saints defense was an absolute force of nature last year, and they got more star-studded this offseason. A unit that already featured Cameron Jordan, Marcus Davenport, Demario Davis, Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, and Marshon Lattimore added even more talent. Our apologies to the rest of the NFL.
The defense, last year, produced a top-ten season in a variety of categories. They were fourth in points allowed, seventh in yards allowed, second in first downs allowed, and third in average points per drive. Those are true top-tier defensive numbers.
Keep in mind those are last year’s defensive stats. The Saints added Tyrann Mathieu, Marcus Maye, and Bradley Roby during the most recent offseason. This is going to be a terror of a defense for any opposing offense to face, even if we’re discussing an offense as stacked as the one belonging to the Philadelphia Eagles.
This is definitely a top matchup to tune into late in this upcoming 2022 season. The Philadelphia Eagles and all their fans will get to see how their offense stacks up versus one of the elite defenses, that is if the Saints aren’t already the very best.
This will be a nice tune-up game that comes a couple of weeks before the beginning of the playoffs. Hopefully, we’ll see the 2022-2023 Eagles make a return visit after the regular season. The results of these nine games will go a long way in determining whether or not that happens.
