There are tons of subplots to watch for as the Eagles prepare for their next training camp.

And, just like that, we’re less than a month away from the beginning of another training camp for the Philadelphia Eagles. It may not seem like it, but we may be approaching gridlock.

There isn’t a ton to iron out in terms of who makes the 53-man roster and who’s standing on the outside and looking in. There is much to discuss, however, especially when it comes down to who claims those final spots.

Trust and believe there won’t be any shortage of discussion or debate, especially when it comes to the second level of the Eagles’ defense.

. . Linebacker. . player. 54.

In a recent take on Pro Football Focus, their write-up on the most intriguing roster battles in the NFL at every position, Sam Monson, the writer of this one, mentioned Philly and their talented group of young linebackers.

As is the case with every position, while some of this is debatable, there are the guys that we’re expecting to earn spots on the 53-man roster. Nakobe Dean, T.J. Edwards, Haason Reddick, and Kyzir White fall in that category. Perhaps, Davion Taylor and Kyron Johnson do as well.

There are the guys we think have great shots at making the roster, even if we aren’t certain that they will (Shaun Bradley, Patrick Johnson, and Jacoby Stevens). Then, there are the guys that we think have tough hills to climb (Christian Elliss, Ali Fayad).

While Monson is right, and Philadelphia’s battle at linebacker will be intriguing. We respectfully disagree that it’s their most intriguing roster battle. Here are two that come to mind, particularly because there are so many guys to talk about.
