Family birthdays… Christmas and Thanksgiving… the Super Bowl… Madden Ratings Reveals… If you’re like us, those are some of the more important dates that you have circled on your calendar. Electronic Arts’ Madden NFL 23 game drops on Friday, August 20th, and Philadelphia Eagles fans everywhere can’t wait to take on the franchise mode with some of the new talent that’s been added this offseason.

It appears that Haason Reddick is ready to fire up the gaming console as well. He isn’t very happy though.

Eagles star Haason Reddick earns an overall rating of 82 in EA’s Madden 23 game.

NFL stars are always curious about their speed rating or their overall ranking. Haason Reddick took to Twitter to contest his (the tweet has since been deleted). He was given an overall rating of 82 when EA announced their ratings for edge rushers on July 19th.

Sure, there was a slight decrease in his production from his final year in Arizona with the Cardinals to his one-and-done year with the Carolina Panthers in 2021. And when we say slight, we mean slight in every sense of the word (68 tackles, 11 sacks, and two forced fumbles in 2021 compared to 63 tackles, 12.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, and four pass breakups in 2020). Still, we’re discussing one of the best EDGE stars in the game. An 82 overall is probably too low.

We all know that J.J. Watt and Demarcus Lawrence are great when healthy, but they both battled injury in 2021. Watt notched 16 tackles and one sack in 2021. He’s been given an 87. Demarcus Lawrence produced 21 tackles and three sacks. He’s earned a 90. Think about that for a second. It’s easy to see where Reddick is coming from.

Just in case you’re wondering, EA released wide receiver ratings on July 18th. A.J. Brown earned an 87. DeVonta Smith notched an 83. Zach Pascal, Quez Watkins, and Jalen Reagor earned marks of 78, 76, and 74 respectively.

As far as EDGE rushers go, Brandon Graham and Josh Sweat both earned an 80-overall score. Kyzir White and T.J. Edwards are slotted at 79. Derek Barnett earned a 74. Overall ratings for running backs, cornerbacks and defensive linemen, and quarterbacks will be announced on July 20th, 21st, and 22nd.
