Watch Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown connect for first TD in front of Eagles faithful
Well, that didn’t take long! This one won’t count. It won’t produce six points like the first touchdown pass of the 2021 Philadelphia Eagles season, Jalen Hurts‘ toss to DeVonta Smith. You still have to appreciate the beauty though.
Before an energized crowd at Lincoln Financial Field, QB1 showed up on his birthday and showed out as they say. On this occasion, the birthday boy handed out a present.
Following a touchdown run during the first series of 11-on-11 drills, Jalen dropped back on the second, looked right, and tossed a pretty pass to his good friend and teammate A.J. Brown.
The pass was as close to pinpoint as it could have been. James Bradberry displayed nice coverage. A.J. did some heavy lifting of his own, hauling in the touchdown reception which may have been prettier than the pass or the coverage.
This one’s definitely worth a look. Thank former Eagle Clay Harbor for the visual.
Here’s another angle. Thank John Clark and Eagles superfan The Mighty EROCK for this one!

We know! That was gorgeous, right?
Two practice sessions remain before Jalen Hurts and the Eagles begin their preseason slate.
Quite a few Birds were absent for Philadelphia’s one and only open practice of the training camp schedule. The top three left tackles were all absent (Jordan Mailata, Andre Dillard, and Le’Raven Clark), as were Grant Calcaterra (hamstring), Javon Hargrave (groin), Jimmy Moreland (ankle), Boston Scott (concussion), DeVonta Smith (groin), and Jaquiski Tartt (personal reasons).
The close of this one means eight sessions are in the books. Two remain before the Eagles put a bow on camp and enter the preseason.
In the end, the highlight of the Sunday night session was, without a doubt, the first TD connection from Jalen Hurts to A.J. Brown at Lincoln Financial Field. Again, it won’t count on the stat sheet, but the fans who were in attendance left with a reason to smile. Hopefully, we’ll see a lot more of these during the coming regular season.
