Ranking every Philadelphia Eagles defensive unit ahead on the preseason
Dare we say the Eagles are stacked at linebacker? And, how about that rotation of defensive tackles?
We’ve long waited to say the words, perhaps since Andy Reid was pacing the sidelines, but we can puff out our chests and say them now. The Philadelphia Eagles are stacked at linebacker.
Look at some of these names: T.J. Edwards, Kyzir White, Davion Taylor, and Haason Reddick. To put things in further perspective, chew on this for a few seconds.
Nakobe Dean was a first-round talent that the Eagles landed in Round 3 of the most recent NFL Draft, and in all honesty, there’s no pressure on him to be one of the team’s biggest contributors early. Seeing as how this has been one of the weak links on this team for a long time, that’s something to be proud of.
Philly’s front office has done a fantastic job of upgrading the position.
Hello! Javon Hargrave is coming off of a Pro Bowl season! Have you forgotten that?
The business model in the City of Brotherly Love has long involved building from the interior of the Eagles’ defensive line and working from there. That was proven again with the decision to draft Jordan Davis 13th-overall during the most recent NFL Draft.
He, now, joins a rotation that includes the aforementioned Hargrave, Fletcher Cox, and Milton Williams. How in the heck are you going to run on this team?
That’s a mighty fine-looking quartet, perhaps the best in the business. We’re expecting to see stuffs, a few TFLs (tackles that result in a loss of yardage), sacks, batted balls, and some good old-fashioned disruption up the middle.
Don’t blink. Don’t take any restroom breaks during games. This rotation should be fun to watch all season.
