Several Eagles stars figure to benefit from Philadelphia’s offseason acquisitions.

Once the time ran out on the Philadelphia Eagles‘ embarrassing Wild Card Weekend loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, to a man (or to a woman), the same thought went through our minds… and it may have happened at the same time. This team is headed in the right direction, but it still has work to do.

Howie Roseman went to work, upgrading the roster on both sides of the ball. A little over seven months after that aforementioned loss to the Bucs, we feel a lot better about the weapons this team has on offense and about its defensive talent.

No one should be happier than some of the veterans that have received some reinforcements at the position.

54. . . . Darius Slay, cornerback. 2. player

Darius ‘Big Play’ Slay enjoyed a fine season in 2021, racking 52 total tackles in 16 regular season games with 16 starts. Add that to the three interceptions he snagged, nine pass breakups, two fumble recoveries, and three defensive touchdowns. He again made the Pro Bowl at the season’s end. That’s the fourth time that’s happened.

Slay could enjoy tremendous success in 2022 as he’s been given some help. James Bradberry is an all-star talent in his own right. He earned a spot on the Pro Bowl roster in 2020, and for both, knowing that you have that kind of teammate on the other side of the formation should raise the level of both guy’s play and production. They should be fun to watch as a duo all season.
