We’ve waited to see this new-look Eagles defense in action, and they shouldn’t disappoint in Week 1.

Just take a second and look at this list of the new guys who have been added to the Philadelphia Eagles’ defense since March. Let this sink in for a second.

  • Haason Reddick
  • Kyzir White
  • Jordan Davis
  • Nakobe Dean
  • James Bradberry
  • C.J. Gardner-Johnson

Some have asked if the Eagles have done enough to prepare for a Detroit team that has sharpened itself with a physical training camp. Perhaps we should ask if the Lions have done enough to prepare for Jonathan Gannon‘s guys.

Expect to see a three-sack performance.

Haason Reddick is a monster. Something tells us that J.G. will send the blitz more frequently, and if you haven’t noticed, we haven’t even brought up Fletcher Cox, Javon Hargrave, Josh Sweat, and Brandon Graham yet. Lions quarterback Jared Goff is in for a long day.

We’re calling for two turnovers.

Regardless of how much the pro game evolves, a fearsome pass rush and quality coverage in the secondary will always go hand in hand. Jared Goff, when under pressure, can, at times, make bad decisions with the football. We’re calling for two forced turnovers by the Philadelphia Eagles’ defense in this one.

Eagles limit the Lions’ offense to 250 yards or less.

This is a better Lions team than the one the Eagles faced last October. Despite the concern, the Eagles are truly the better team here, and they’ll roll in Week 1 thanks to a huge defensive effort.
