Mother Nature may have done the Philadelphia Eagles a solid. Ahead of their home opener on Monday Night Football, the fine citizens of the City of Brotherly Love woke up to a day that eventually brought a breeze.

Three hours prior to kickoff, a 4.9 miles-per-hour wind was a conversation piece, and though it’s expected to be somewhere around the 78-79 degree range at kickoff, thunderstorms and a brief shower are also expected.

That’s good news for the home team and bad news for the Minnesota Vikings. The Birds are one of the NFL’s best running teams (even if they’d rather be the second coming of Air Coryell). The Vikes, as you know, play a minimum of nine games indoors annually (eight at home and one on the road in Detroit versus the Lions).

If the wind continues and the elements are a factor, games like these are often when you see the dome team struggle. The Vikings field a finesse offense that would like to rely on precision, so if the field is slick or the football gets wet, home field advantage in this one will consist of a raucous Eagles faithful and an alley-oop pass from the aforementioned Mother Nature.

Here’s a look at the inactives reports for the Eagles and Vikings in Week 2.

Kudos to the medical staff and Nick Sirianni’s system of workload management. The Eagles, for the second week in a row, are healthy. Derek Barnett was added to the injured reserve after Week 1’s game in the Motor City. Landon Dickerson dealt with an illness earlier in the week, but he’s a go.

The Birds also announced slightly ahead of 4:30 p.m. EST that, for the second time in as many weeks, wide receiver Britain Covey and tight end Noah Togiai have been elevated from the practice squad for tonight’s game. Inactives will be announced ahead of game time. According to the Minnesota Vikings’ final injury report, rookie cornerback Andre Booth is sidelined with a quad injury.

Philadelphia and Minnesota’s final inactive reports will be released 90 minutes before the kickoff of Monday night’s game. Bookmark this one. Watch the space below for updates as they come.
