Kyler Murray booed at home ahead of Eagles vs Cardinals game
The season-long takeover continues. Citizens of any city that’s home to an NFL team beware. If the Philadelphia Eagles are scheduled to visit your city to play a football game, their fans will show up, and they will take your stadium over.
Last year the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers learned that (among other teams). FedExField has long been known as ‘Lincoln Financial Field South’, and in Week 5, somewhere around 30,000 of the 70,000 or so seats in State Farm Stadium have been filled by Birds fans. Kyler Murray and his teammates just got booed at home during pre-game introductions.
Don’t take our word for it. Take a look for yourselves. You can thank Eagles fans in attendance for this.
From this point going forward, the Eagles are America’s Team.
The Dallas Cowboys are no longer America’s Team. We can be quoted on that.
Perhaps one of the most overstated theories when it comes to fandom is ‘fans travel well’. Sure, some fans get on planes or buses, and they follow their team wherever they go, win or lose. Let’s get something straight here though.
Just as often, many of those fans that you see in attendance at the opposing team’s stadium live in the city in which the game is being played. Birds fans are in the Delaware Valley. You can find Eagles fans in Alaska, but just so there’s no further argument. Let’s establish something one more time.
The Eagles are America’s Team now. We dare any of you reading this to disagree. We’ll see you at your stadium one day soon.
