Cowboys D.C. Dan Quinn versus Eagles O.C. Shane Steichen

We’ve mentioned A.J. Brown and Jalen Hurts. We’ve noted those Eagles receivers. What we haven’t mentioned is this. The Birds have a tendency to ignore what’s working for them.

A.J. Brown had three catches on the opening drive in Week 5. Then, he wasn’t targeted again for the remainder of the game. Just as Jalen can’t beat Jalen and the Birds can’t beat themselves, Shane Steichen can’t overthink things.

Last week, Coach Steichen abandoned the running game until the Eagles had to run in the fourth quarter. Once he went back to it, Philadelphia went on a 17-play, nearly-eight-minute drive that led to a go-ahead score and the Cardinals exhausting all of their timeouts.

In short, Coach Steichen must simply remember what’s always been said. Players win games, wins and losses come down to matchups, and a coach’s job is to put his players in the best position to allow them the opportunity to make plays. If he does that, the Eagles win.

The Eagles are the better football team. The Eagles have better players. No one can stop Philly’s rushing attack unless Shane Steichen makes the decision that he doesn’t want to call any running plays.

light. Hot. 12 Cowboys that can ruin SNF (other than Parsons)

Balance on offense is what the doctor orders. Some of those screens can go to A.J. Brown too. This one should come down to playcalling and a chess match between the Eagles’ offensive coordinator and Dan Quinn, the brilliant defensive mastermind manning the controls of this vaunted Cowboys defense.
