As soon as we saw Philadelphia Eagles star Jordan Mailata reveal his identity after hitting a home run on The Masked Singer, two thoughts went through our minds. One, he has a very impressive voice, better than we expected to be honest with you. Second, whenever these things happen, you have to wonder about the possibility of a single being released.

Guess what? We are expected to get that single after all as it comes as part of a longer LP.

According to Dan DeLuca of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Jason Kelce, Lane Johnson, and Jordan Mailata are recording a Christmas album, one executive produced by Connor Barwin. Proceeds will benefit Philadelphia’s Children’s Crisis Treatment Center. How could we not be on board with this idea?

We’re really stoked about this Eagles Christmas album.

Vera Y Records, whose name comes from Connor Barwin’s daughter Vera and Jason Kelce’s daughter Wyatt plans to drop A Philly Special Christmas on December 23rd. Vynil will be ready for preorder in late November via phillyspecialchrtismas.com. The project features seven songs and is produced by Charlie Hall of The War On Drugs.

The first single is an updated version of Darlene Love’s Christmas (Baby Please Come Home). 98-year-old wonder Marshall Allen of the Sun Ra Arkestra is featured on saxophone. That one drops on Black Friday.

This is for a great cause, and the aforementioned proceeds help fund a toy drive for children who have experienced personal trauma. That alone is a reason to pick this one up. It’s ready for release in its entirety on green vinyl and all digital services on December 23rd.

Personally, we’re pumped for The Night Before Christmas. Longtime Eagles play-by-play radio announcer Merrill Reese is featured on that one. He’s accompanied by Zach Miller of Dr. Dog on piano. Again, how could we not be on board for this?
