In Week 8, two teams with a long and storied history renew acquaintances. The Philadelphia Eagles are the hosts. Their opponents, the Pittsburgh Steelers, take a cross-state journey to the City of Brotherly Love for a game at Lincoln Financial Field. These proud franchises began playing football in 1933. They were forced to join forces as the Steagles in 1943 as World War II resulted in a loss of manpower and a temporary merger. Their next clash will be the 81st in this series, and with this being a meeting between two of the NFL’s most popular franchises, the expectation is a healthy number of viewers.

There will be varying opinions, but at Inside The Iggles, we’ve forecasted this game as a victory since the NFL released the 2022-2023 regular-season schedule. With these teams seemingly headed in opposite directions, there’s seemingly no need to steer away from that theory.

The line hasn’t changed. As was the case earlier this week, Philadelphia is favored by 10.5 points. Sure, game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change, but we still like the line because we see no reason why this game won’t be won by two scores. We’re thinking something in the area of a 27-13 final score with the Eagles coming out on top.

As mentioned earlier, the Eagles and Steelers’ Week 8 meeting will be the 81st in the all-time series. Philadelphia commands the overall tally by a 48-29-3 margin. Let’s hope they add a 49th win and improve to a 7-0 start on the regular season.
