Philadelphia Eagles versus Commanders Week 10 Odds, Prediction
Typically, when the Philadelphia Eagles are off, as was the case this past Sunday, game days for Birds fans follow a familiar script. Find the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, and/or Washington Commanders games and root against the rivals. There was just one problem (or two in this case). Dallas and New York were off this week.
That meant joy would come from one matchup, and though none of us would ever admit to this publicly, we all became Minnesota Vikings fans for about three hours.
Who would have thunk? The Vikes did us all a solid, stacking 13 points in the fourth quarter of their game versus Washington to win in come-from-behind fashion. The loss drops the Commanders to a 4-5 mark on the season ahead of their next game, one versus Philadelphia on Monday Night Football.
An Eagles win improves their win-loss total to 9-0 and all but ends the Commanders’ season. Nothing would make Birds fans happier. Here’s what our friends in Las Vegas have to say about the matchup.
Philadelphia Eagles versus Washington Commanders Odds Week 10
According to FanDuel, the Philadelphia Eagles are 10.5-point favorites. Their moneyline is -510 compared to +390 for Washington. The over/under is set at 43.5 points which, believe it or not, is right about where we would have set a spread and over/under if given the license to do so. In this instance, we’ll take the under.
Philadelphia Eagles versus Washington Commanders Week 10 Prediction
As you’re well aware, nothing you’ve witnessed from either team has any bearing on the current matchup whenever rival factions of the NFC East play one another. They know each other well. They see each other twice annually, and often, our theories about how game scripts will play out prove to be erroneous.
In 2021, Philly did everything that it could to gift-wrap two upset wins and, in essence, hand them to Washington. They survived because they were truly the better team in both instances. The Birds are now a more polished and more talented squad than they were in Nick Sirianni’s first run as head coach. The Commanders are better than advertised (and improving). Keep in mind the fact their most recent loss halted a three-game winning streak.
When it’s all said and done, however, Philly is better than the Commanders are. They’re extremely focused, so there are no concerns about this being a trap game. Take the under, but you should be confident in taking the expected point differential. Final score: Eagles 27, Commanders 16
