Eagles shuffle their active roster, practice squad ahead of Week 10 game
It’s been a busy day at the NovaCare Complex as the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles close the next week of NFL action after playing in the initial game of the most recent. That figures to be a consistent theme as their next test is the second of their annual pair of meetings with the Washington Commanders. As was the case in Week 9, this one is in primetime. As is the case every week, they’re shuffling their roster in preparation.
According to an official report, one from the team’s website, Philly is signing Andre Chachere to the active roster as he’s already been elevated from the practice squad the maximum amount of times (three). In a subsequent move, they have also elected to sign an offensive lineman, tackle Fred Johnson to the practice squad. This comes after the latter participated in a recent workout for the team’s coaches.
Here’s some further info on the Eagles’ roster changes.
Andre Chachere is someone that we’re all familiar with. So far this season, he’s played 50 special teams snaps and has two tackles on his 2022 resume. He’s appeared in 19 games during his time with the Eagles with one start.
Fred Johnson is in his fourth NFL season. He’s spent time with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cincinnati Bengals, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, appearing in a total of 23 games with eight starts. He was a part of Cincy’s AFC Championship-winning team last season.
He’s more than capable and, most importantly gives the Eagles some insurance should anything unforeseen happen from an injury standpoint along the offensive line.
