When is Dallas Goedert coming back?
As expected, the Wednesday leading up to the Philadelphia Eagles‘ tenth game of the 2022-2023 regular season was a busy one. Head coach Nick Sirianni and quarterback Jalen Hurts met with media members shortly after we learned that Linval Joseph had been added to the nest, and then there was the expected roster shuffle. Unfortunately, that means that Dallas Goedert will head to the team’s injured reserve. Defensive tackle and second-year man Marlon Tuipilotu will join him there.
Goedert injured his shoulder during the Eagles’ most recent game, one on Monday Night Football, when he was dragged to the turf by his facemask during the fourth quarter. He will, by league rule, miss the next four games of Philly’s slate. So will Tuipulotu.
The November 16th injury report listed seven other Eagles as well: wide receiver A.J. Brown (ankle), wide receiver/punt returner Britain Covey (thigh), defensive tackle Fletcher Cox (foot), center Jason Kelce (ankle), linebacker Haason Reddick (thigh), DeVonta Smith (knee), and cornerback Josh Jobe (hamstring).
Jobe didn’t participate in the Wednesday session. Everyone else practiced but in a limited capacity.
Latest Injury Update for Dallas Goedert and Marlon Tuipulotu
Dallas Goedert and Marlon Tuipulotu will hopefully return when the Philadelphia Eagles travel to the Windy City in Week 15 to meet the Chicago Bears. They will need to be medically eligible and cleared by doctors.
Linval’s addition was, no doubt, the attempt to add another body to the interior of the defensive line and hopefully help cure what’s been a weak run defense. Jordan Davis found his way onto the Eagles’ IR following Week 8’s game versus the Pittsburgh Steelers. If everything goes according to plan, he’ll return when he’s eligible. That would be Week 13 versus the Tennessee Titans.
The Eagles opened a 21-day practice window on October 26th for tight end Tyree Jackson, and they used all 21 of those days to evaluate him before announcing via an official report that he’s been elevated back to the active 53-man roster from the physically unable to perform list. He Jack Stoll, and Grant Calcaterra are the three tight ends on the roster now.
In addition, Philadelphia also announced that safety Marquise Blair has been signed to the practice squad and a 21-day practice window has been opened for Janarius Robinson. The latter has been on the IR since October 15th. Philly has until December 7th to add him to the active roster if they choose to do so. He reverts back to the injured reserve for the remainder of the season if they don’t.
Derek Barnett, Jaeden Graham, and Avonte Maddox are also on the injured reserve. Maddox is eligible to return for Week 14’s game versus the Giants if everything goes as expected.
