Eagles legend Jason Kelce among early leaders in Pro Bowl votes
Well, this simply just confirms what we already know. There are fan favorites. There are bonafide future Pro Football Hall of Fame inductees, and there are guys like Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce, guys who can lay claim to being both. Since being taken 191st overall, during Round 6 of the 2011 NFL Draft, a man once seen as a prospect that was too small to meet the demands of playing center at football’s highest level has gone on to make a name for himself. This season, that name continues to turn heads.
2023 Pro Bowl voting is underway in the NFL, and fans everywhere are casting throwing their support behind some of pro football’s best players (and some of the popular guys). Jason Kelce is among the early leaders in terms of votes earned.
He and Creed Humphrey are turning heads as the guys who might be representing their respective conferences as anchors of the offensive lines. Take a look.
Seriously, is anyone surprised by this?
Another Pro Bowl nod would be a nice feather in the cap for an Eagles legend playing what might be his final season.
Jason Kelce isn’t one to toot his own horn, so we’ll toot said horn for him. For 12 seasons, he’s been a technician, appearing in 178 games (that includes eight postseason contests) and starting every single one of them.
No Eagles lineman has played more games in the midnight or kelly green, and that’s worked out well for the former sixth-rounder and the organization that selected him
In what may be his swan song with the only team that he’s ever played for, Number 62 in the midnight green continues to play and extinguish doubters at an elite level. He’s a Super Bowl Champion that has also notched four First-Team All-Pro Awards (2017–2019, 2021). Once he’s added to the 2023 Pro Bowl roster, it will be the sixth time that has happened.
Jason Kelce is one of the most beloved Philadelphia sports stars of all time and a surefire Hall of Famer, and if this is his curtain call, the hope is he goes out on top. It would be a nice feather in the cap and evidence that, sometimes, nice guys can finish first. As you might expect, we’re pulling for him.
