Win or lose, the Philadelphia Eagles are always a huge topic of conversation, but there’s something about owning the best record in the NFL. Once we begin discussing ten wins in 11 games, a possible Super Bowl run, and a historic performance on primetime television, the feeling of every discussion changes. Think about it. We began the regular season asking whether or not Jalen Hurts can take the next step as a passer. Now, with six games remaining on the regular-season schedule, he’s being mentioned as a legitimate MVP candidate.

According to FanDuel, Philly’s QB1 trails one man, Patrick Mahomes, after the odds of Jalen winning the NFL’s Most Valuable Player Award have moved to +350. Here’s a look at the ten guys the oddsmakers are currently eyeing as the favorites (odds refresh periodically and are subject to change).

  • Patrick Mahomes -140
  • Jalen Hurts +350
  • Tua Tagovailoa +600
  • Josh Allen +1100
  • Joe Burrow +1500
  • Lamar Jackson +5000
  • Geno Smith +6000
  • Justin Jefferson +7500
  • Kirk Cousins +8500
  • Tyreek Hill+11000

Currently, it feels like Mahomes is the favorite to take home the hardware, but there’s still plenty of time for Hurts to sway the odds further in his favor.

More Eagles News

Yes, there’s a buzz growing. There’s an ever-expanding contingent that believes there are only three things that can thwart Philly’s quest for a second Vince Lombardi Trophy: mistakes in execution, injuries, and a blown play on special teams. Obviously, injuries can’t be planned for, but at least we now know the extent of C.J. Gardner-Johnson’s issue (and that he isn’t expected to miss the remainder of the season). He has a lacerated kidney.

The Eagles’ best options for replacing him are probably all internal, but a confident Malcolm Jenkins believes that he can go if his services are needed. We touched on that in a recent take on internal and external options that Philadelphia can explore if they’re looking for temporary fill-ins.

Give that one a look when you have a moment, but as of right now, the safest bet is probably subscribing to the theory that the Eagles will roll with what’s currently available to them on their roster

NFL News

The NFL never sleeps, and as we turn the calendar from November to December, it’s time to begin casting votes for the stars that you believe have earned a spot on the NFL’s all-star teams for both the NFC and AFC.

So far, Eagles legend Jason Kelce is among the primary vote-getters. Another nod will be his sixth and all but punch his ticket to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. That is if you aren’t currently convinced that he’s already crafted an acceptable resume. He most certainly has our vote.
