Why does it feel like it’s been two weeks since the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants played? Sure, we know it hasn’t been that long, but getting to Sunday took forever, didn’t it? Maybe the Birds’ most recent showing whet our appetites for more action. Maybe this feeling just comes from it being New York Giants week. Who knows?

All we can say it’s game day! Bring on Big Blue! Philly is ready.

Eagles versus Giants inactives: Shaun Bradley sits out

This one wasn’t a surprise when we read the final verdict on Saturday. Shaun Bradley has been ruled out. A special teams warrior, the former Temple Owl hadn’t played less than 74% of the special teams’ snaps until being forced out of the lineup with a hamstring injury versus Tennessee after having seen 18 snaps (about 62% of the team’s total) in that one.

Some of the responsibility of filling in falls on undrafted rookie Christian Elliss. He’s been elevated from the practice squad to the active roster for the second consecutive week. During his Week 14 debut, he saw 21 special teams snaps (72% of Philly’s total) and ten more on defense. He finished with five tackles. All were of the solo variety.

Once this week concludes, the Eagles are allowed to elevate Elliss from the scout team to the active roster once more if they choose to. That means they may need to make a decision about whether or not they want to add him to the 53-man roster moving forward. By the looks of things, he may be someone they want to continue to develop.

Philly announced their Week 14 inactives 90 minutes before kickoff. They are as follows:

  • Quarterback Ian Book
  • Running back Trey Sermon
  • Linebacker Shaun Bradley
  • Defensive end Janarius Robinson
  • Guard Josh Sills
  • Guard Sua Opeta

On the Giants’ side, after much speculation, Saquon Barkley is active.

Arryn Siposs and Reed Blankenship have both left the playing field on a medical cart. Kyron Johnson has also left the playing surface for the locker room. We figure not to see Siposs and Reed Blankenship again in Week 14. Johnson is questionable to return.

Here’s the update from Philly.

Update: Lane Johnson spent some time in the medical tent after leaving the game with an abdomen issue. He missed the close of this one as well.
