Eagles deliver early dagger to Giants thanks to Jalen Hurts, DeVonta Smith
Wow! That just about sums this one up! Wow! When this story drops, most of the second quarter of the Philadelphia Eagles‘ Week 13 game versus the New York Giants is left to be played. The Birds lead their age-old rivals by a 14-0 margin, but we’re walking around the Inside The Iggles offices high-fiving and asking ourselves how the G-Men are going to recover from this one.
With more than 12 minutes remaining in the second stanza, and on fourth-and seven from the Giants 41-yard line, Nick Sirianni and the coaching staff said ‘What the heck? Why not go for it’?
Jalen Hurts in the shotgun while enjoying an empty backfield decided to go deep. DeVonta Smith was the beneficiary This one is a thing of beauty. Take a gander.
When NFL Films releases those team yearbooks, this one had better be on the Eagles’ highlight reel.
This may not hold the same significance as the Miracle at the Meadowlands (Herman Edwards’ scoop and score), The Miracle at the New Meadowlands (DeSean Jackson’s punt return) or the ‘other’ Miracle at the Meadowlands (Brian Westbrook’s punt return TD). Those all were game-winners, but we wouldn’t mind seeing this one again and again when Giants Week rolls around.
Oh wait, following a Giants miscue, the Birds are in the end zone again. This time, Jalen Hurts hits A.J. Brown.
Philly may break the scoreboard in this one. Truthfully, we wouldn’t mind if they did. Johnson is questionable to return.
