After a week’s worth of speculation, it is now official. The Philadelphia Eagles will indeed face a New York Giants team with Saquon Barkley in the lineup. The Former Penn State Nittany Lion (and former teammate of Birds tailback Miles Sanders) was listed as questionable on both of the Giants’ injury reports on Thursday and Friday as he’s been dealing with a neck injury.

There was some back and forth about whether he’d be active in Week 13. Both Philly and New York released their inactives 90 minutes prior to the next chapter in their storied rivalry. It’s official. Big Blue, again, will have their best player in the offensive lineup.

Saquon Barkley may affect the final score but he won’t affect the outcome of Eagles versus Giants.

Saquon Barkly has been the Giants’ lone consistent weapon on offense. Historically, he’s given the Birds issues from time to time. New York has faced Philly six times with Barkley in the lineup. He’s notched 461 yards and three rushing touchdowns on 88 career carries, He’s also tallied 175 receiving yards and another TD on 27 career snags, but the G-Men are 1-5 in those games.

This game will provide a familiar formula. While we expect Barkley to create a highlight-reel moment or two, the Eagles are too talented. We expect them to win. Saquon’s Barkley could affect what the final score winds up being, but it won’t affect the outcome. Mark it down. Philly wins by two scores.
