As expected, the Philadelphia Eagles announced on Wednesday that they’re opening a 21-day practice window for Dallas Goedert. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen him. It was a Monday night clash versus the Washington Commanders in Week 10 to be exact.

Philly lost their all-world tight end on a bit of a triple-whammy. An obvious facemask penalty was missed. He injured his shoulder, and on top of that, he fumbled (which should have been overturned because of the facemask penalty).

He’s been on Philly’s injured reserve since November 16th and has missed every game from Week 11 to Week 14 as a result. He’s back though (yes, we’re calling it now). We’ve been hearing for a while that, whenever he was eligible to return, he’d be ready to go. Week 15 versus the Chicago Bears has always been our target date.

Philly reinserted Jordan Davis back into the lineup ahead of the Tennessee Titans game. They got Avonte Maddox back for Week 14. The Eagles are getting healthy at the right time. That’s what you want to see if you’re a Birds fan.

Dallas Goedert and the Eagles get a warm-up game before they lock in on a rivalry game on Christmas Eve.

Cliches are labeled as so for a reason, because, in most cases, there are bits of truth that are attached to them. It’s cliche to say never look past anyone in the NFL. That statement has also proven itself to be accurate time and time again.

It’s dangerous to overlook a team like the Chicago Bears, but let’s be honest. The Eagles are a better team, and everyone expects them to win in Week 15. Who are we kidding though? Everyone has circled the Christmas Eve game versus the Dallas Cowboys.

Dallas Goedert’s reinsertion into the lineup means the Birds are, again, operating at full strength on offense. The Bears provide a nice tune-up. Then, it’s full speed ahead toward Dallas. These are just the best teams in the NFC East. They’re the best teams in the NFL. Week 16’s game should provide a playoff atmosphere. It may even be a playoff preview.
