By now, you’ve heard the story more times than you care to remember. Dallas Cowboys star pass rusher Micah Parsons questioned the candidacy of Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles as a legitimate candidate for the NFL’s Most Valuable Player Award speaking while speaking with Von Miller on Voncast.

Since then, he has backed off of his comments, but the damage was done. Some of his statement, however, included theories that we’ve heard before. People have been hesitant to embrace Hurts as the franchise quarterback for a while and for a variety of reasons.

While we always knew that he is a great leader and a great athlete (even when he was pulled for Tua Tagovailoa in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game), there were aspects of his game and repertoire that we thought warranted valid criticism.

Once upon a time, there were questions about his vision, rhythm, and efficiency as a passer, but here’s what makes him different. So many other quarterbacks lack his work ethic and commitment to chasing perfection.

Will Jalen Hurts win the MVP trophy? That is what some are saying. He has a shot. He seems deserving, even if he does miss time because of his injury. Let’s dig in a little further.
