Philadelphia Eagles: Jonathan Gannon’s defense has struck fear into their opponents all year long.

Philadelphia’s offense gets a lot of credit for the team’s success, but the defense has also been a key reason why the Eagles have the best record in the NFL.

Jonathan Gannon’s unit has been a tough out for opposing offenses all season. They enter Week 16 ranked second in yards given up from scrimmage (293.5).

Opposing passing attacks haven’t fared well versus Philly’s secondary. They have only given up 172.4 passing yards per contest.

Talk about making life hard for quarterbacks. Philadelphia leads the league in sacks (55) and interceptions (15).

Philadelphia also knows how to punch the ball away from the other team, as they have forced 14 fumbles with ten recoveries.

One of the Eagles’ best free-agent signings this offseason, Haason Reddick, has wreaked havoc on just about everyone Philadelphia has faced. He’s racked up 12 sacks, four forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries through 14 games.

Another player who has stepped his game up this year is the old man, Brandon Graham. He has 8.5 sacks and two forced fumbles to his credit, and he figures to reach a double-digit sack total for the first time in his career. He’s been a walking Nintendo Switch OLED in the stockings of Birds fans all year.
