15. Sunday, January 1st. 13-2. Eagles -5. 1 PM EST. 6-9. FOX. 54

As hard as the Philadelphia Eagles‘ medical staff has worked all season, there’s still more to be done. We’ve long known the goal. Keep this team as healthy as possible for an eventual playoff run. For the most part, the Birds have done a good job of doing so, but some of this team’s best players are missing in action, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, Jalen Hurts, Lane Johnson, and Avonte Maddox for instance. Fingers are crossed that they’ll return by the postseason as close to 100 percent as possible.

This week’s opponent is the New Orleans Saints, and they have health concerns of their own. Alvin Kamara didn’t participate in practice on Wednesday or Thursday, but he was a full participant on Friday. He’s playing.

Guard Andrus Peat and running back Dwayne Washington didn’t participate all week. They have been ruled out of the game. Ryan Ramczyk didn’t participate in Wednesday’s session. He was limited on Thursday. He was a full participant on Friday. Rookie wide receiver Chris Olave was limited all week.

Both will play on Sunday.

On defense, Marcus Maye sat out of practice all week. He’s out. Safety, Justin Evans, cornerback Marshon Lattimore, and linebacker Pete Warner were limited all week. Werner and Lattimore are active. Marcus Maye is out.

Linebacker Kaden Elliss is dealing with a hand injury, but he was a full participant all week. He’ll play. Wide receiver Marquez Calloway, DB Justin Evans, linebacker Chase Hansen, and defensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon are also inactive for Week 17’s game.

Eagles versus Saints inactives:

The Philadelphia Eagles listed their Week 17 inactives 90 minutes before kickoff. Here’s the list.

  • Jalen Hurts, QB
  • Lane Johnson, tackle
  • Avonte Maddox, cornerback
  • Sua Opeta, guard
  • Janarius Robinson, defensive end
  • Trey Sermon, running back

Gardner Minshew makes his second start in as many weeks. He proved that there was a little magic left in the mania. Expect to see him perform at a high level.
