Eagles must place these UGA Bulldogs on their NFL Draft board right now
Nolan Smith and Kenny McIntosh are solid depth pieces that could contribute mightily to the Eagles early.
Remember what we were just saying about teams and there never being the possibility of having too many good offensive linemen? Yeah, that’s also true about edge rushers.
When it comes to naming the best of the best while identifying EDGE stars entering the next draft, no name supersedes Will Anderson from Alabama. He or Jalen Carter could be the first defensive players that come off of the board next April. There’s also a good chance that Philly won’t land either player.
For that reason, we offer Nolan Smith as a nice consolation prize. He isn’t someone the Birds have to utilize a high draft choice on. Guys like Isaiah Foskey (Notre Dame), Myles Murphy (Clemson), and Felix Anudike-Uzomah (Kansas State) will all be held in higher regard between now and draft time, but if Smith is still on the board sometime on Day 3, the Eagles would be wise to roll the dice.
Keep in mind the fact that Derek Barnett will be coming off of an injury, and there’s no telling, right now, if guys like Brandon Graham, Fletcher Cox, and Javon Hargrave will be back or not.
It seems like we’re always talking about depth at running back during the offseason. That won’t change come March.
Miles Sanders and Boston Scott will see their contracts expire come this season’s end. Even if Philly hangs on to one of them, they’ll need someone to round out the room and provide depth.
Currently, Kenneth Gainwell is the only tailback that we know will return next season. Kenny McIntosh is someone to watch as it seems unlikely that the Birds will splurge on someone like Bijan Robinson with a high draft choice.
