They say defense wins championships, and the Eagles are loaded with talent.

Call Vegas and the oddsmakers. Jump on some of those lines and ‘anytime touchdown scorers’. Here are our bold postseason predictions. We begin on the defensive side of the ball.

The Eagles’ defense produces the highest sack total of all teams in the Divisional Round.

What a difference a year makes. The Eagles have gone from being one of pro football’s worst teams at pressuring opposing quarterbacks in 2021 to transforming themselves into one of the greatest teams at creating pressure a year later.

Perhaps you’ve heard. Their 70 sacks during the 2022-2023 regular season took them within an eyelash of setting the NFL’s record for total sacks in a season. During the postseason, they’ll rely on their strengths, that being one of them, and once we close the book on the Divisional Round, they will have produced the highest sack total of the weekend.

Philly finishes +4 or better in turnover differential the rest of the way.

Some of Philly’s euphoric start to the season can be credited to their ability to take the ball away from the other team. They’ve been less successful in doing so during the second half of the campaign, but with the return of one of their chief playmakers, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, explosive plays by the defense could be on the horizon.

That’s especially true seeing as how the Eagles have arguably the best cornerback duo in the sport. Keep those eyes peeled. Jonathan Gannon’s unit will be fun to watch.
