What a difference a few months make. Think back to the beginning of August. Some were questioning whether or not Jalen Hurts could get it done as QB1 of the Philadelphia Eagles. We were asking if a track star could make the team. Chauncey Gardner-Johnson wasn’t even on the roster yet.
Fast forward to the present, and the Birds are hosting the NFC Championship Game. A win will award them the right to represent the National Football Conference in the coming Super Bowl. So far, it’s been fun. Hopefully, this team has two more wins in its reservoir.
You can thank some great team efforts and individual performances for the success this team has seen so far. Thanks to the latter, several stars from Philadelphia’s loaded roster have earned some well-deserved pats on the back.
Eight Philadelphia Eagles are named to the 2022 Pro Football Writers of America’s All-NFC Team.
Great albums are always constructed of great individual hits. Here’s an NFL comp. The better the roster, the better an individual team’s chances of success. The Eagles have done a lot of winning this season. As a result, their stars have shone brightly. That pattern continues ahead of the NFC Championship Game.
The Pro Football Writers of America released their All-Pro Team, their All-AFC Team, and their ALL-NFC Team on Monday. Jason Kelce, Lane Johnson, and Haason Reddick were named to the All-Pro Team. They also landed on the list of the eight Eagles on the All-NFC roster.
Here’s that list in its entirety:
- Jalen Hurts
- A.J. Brown
- Jason Kelce
- Lane Johnson
- Haason Reddick
- Javon Hargrave
- Darius Slay
- C.J. Gardner-Johnson
We could add a few more names to that list or complain about snubs, but we’ll behave. Here’s what we will say. If the Eagles wind up hoisting the Vince Lombardi Trophy, this team will be remembered as the best team in franchise history. That includes the 2017 squad.
Everything is right there in front of them. It’s time to seal the deal and place the cherry on top. Again, what a difference a few months make.
